Putting My Experience
I began service to the community at the very young age of 11. Being raised by my paternal grandparents, my foundation was respect, family, religion and service to others. Witnessing the wonders that the land can provide on a daily basis, the love that my grandparents shared, the care that they provided to our neighbors were excellent experiences for me to never want to let them down.
My grandmother became ill because of her diabetes and high blood pressure, three years later, my grandfather became ill as well because of his diabetes. I helped my grandfather for the eight months that he struggled with his health, my grandmother for almost ten years. Because of this situation I received extensive training to be able to help them, I made ends meet, I helped neighbors that needed medical attention.
Because of this lived experience and other experiences, I have always tried to help and make a difference.
I moved here to Adams Creek on July 1st, 2020. I fell in love with the local Flora and the Fauna, with the Creek, but mainly, with the people! As I covered 6-10 miles on foot daily, I began to learn so much more, I thought to myself, this community needs help, and I want to make a difference. Soon enough I was invited to become a Volunteer Firefighter at our local Fire Department, my heart filled with joy! On March 2nd, 2021, I became a member of one of the most elite organizations in the world. As I continued to assess the needs of the community and meet more neighbors, I realized that we have bigger needs than the eye can't see. Through conversations I gathered the right route to bring the needed change, therefore, here I am!
